Malabar Chicken Curry

Ingredients
1 Chicken (washes & cut into pieces)
1 Carrot (cut into thin strips)
7 Baby potatoes
4 cloves Garlic (chopped)
2 Onions (chopped)
3 Green chilies
1 ½ cups Coconut milk
1 piece Cinnamon
2 Bay leaves
2 Cloves
¼ cup Fresh green peas
1 inch piece Grated ginger
1 tsp Black peppercorns
4 spring Curry leaves
½ tsp Turmeric powder
¼ tsp Garam masala powder
½ tsp Mustard seeds
Oil
Salt to taste
 

Method:
  1. Wash and peel the potatoes skin and into halves. Add turmeric powder and salt to boil water and blanch the potatoes till tender.
  2. Mix turmeric powder with grind peppercorns, ginger, onions and green chilies to make into coarse paste.
  3. Heat up pan with oil. Add mustard seeds to fry, when it starts to pop add cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon sauté for a while. Then add curry leaves and garlic and continue to sauté for few seconds. Add ginger, onions and chili paste, sauté again. At last, add pieces of chicken, potatoes, garam masala, carrots and salt. Cover up the pan, let it cooks for 10 minutes. After that, pour coconut milk and green peas. Cover up again till chicken is fully cooked.
