Cholia Pulao (Horse gram rice)
Ingredients :
1 cup Rice, Basmati
1 cup Horse gram (cholia)
1 tbsp Vegetable oil
1 Ginget (adrak), 1” piece, julienned
4 cloves (laung)
1 Cinnamon (dalchini), 1” stick
2 Balck cardamom (badi elaichi)
2 Bay leaves (tej patta)
2 cups Water, hot

Method:
- Heat the oil in a pan; ass ginger, cloves,
cinnamon stick, black cardamom, and bay leaves; saute for 2 minutes.
- Add horse gram, saute for 3 minutes and then
add rice. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
- Add water and bring the mixture to the boil.
Cover the pan with a heavy lid and cook on low heat for 20 minutes or
till the rice is done.
- Serve hot with any curry or raita.
