Tareli Macchi
( Fried fish – Parsi style )


Ingredients

6 large or 12 small fish fillets or cut into ½”– thick slices.


For the marinade:
1 tsp Turmeric (haildi) powder
1 tsp Red Chili powder
1 tsp Cumin (jeera) powder (optional)
1 Lemon (nimbu) juice
Salt to taste
1 cup sesame (til) oil

 


Method:
  1. Mix all the ingredients for the marinade and rub into the fish. Marinate for about 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan, fry the fish on low heat till crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain the excess oil on absorbent paper towels.
  3. Serve immediately with lemon slices.
     

Serves : 6-8
