Macchi Kohiwada (Deep-fried, batter-coated fish
fillets)
Ingredients
500 gm Fish, bekti fillets
2 tbsp Lemon juice
1/2 tsp White pepper powder
1 cup Gram flour
2 tsp Cumin powder
2 tsp Chaat masala
1 tsp Garam masala
1/2 cup Ginger-garlic paste
2 tbsp Red Chili paste
2 tsp Green chilies, chopped
2 tsp Ginger, chopped
1/2 cup Onions, chopped
1 1/4 cups Vegetable oil
Salt to taste
Water as required

Method:
- Marinate the pieces of fish fillets with lemon
juice, while pepper powder, ginger-garlic paste and salt to taste. Keep
aside.
- Mix gram flour, cumin powder, chaat masala,
garam masala, ginger-garlic paste, red Chili paste, green chilies,
ginger, onions and vegetable oil. Add in water and batter it gradually.
- Dip the marinated fish finger into the batter.
Deep-fry it with a hot pan till golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot.
