Tamater Ka Shorba ( Tangy and spicy tomato soup )

Ingredients

800 gm Tomatoes
4 tbsp Vegetable oil
3 – 4 Cinnamon (dalchini), 1” sticks
5 – 6 Cloves (laung)
2 Bay leaves (tej patta)
4 Green cardamom (choti elaichi)
˝ tbsp Ginger (adrak), chopped
1 tbsp Garlic (lasan), chopped
4 cups Water
Salt to taste
Black pepper (kali mirch) powder to taste
3 tbsp Cream
 

Method:
  1. Heat the oil in a deep pan; add the whole spices and sauté till they crackle.
  2. Add the tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and water. Bring the mixture to the boil and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and mash the tomatoes. Strain the liquid through a soup strainer into another pan. Discard the tomato pulp.
  4. Heat the soup, adjust the seasoning and remove from heat. Stir in the cream and serve hot.
